Kabul

Kabul is the capital of Afghanistan and its largest city. It has a population of approximately 3 million people. Kabul is situated 1,800m above sea level nestled in the Hindu Kush mountains along the Kabul River. Kabul was first established almost 3,500 years ago and has seen many empires come and go.

The population is multi-cultural with Tajiks, Hazaras, Pashtuns, Uzbeks, Turkmen, Baloch etc all calling Kabul home.

The old section of Kabul is filled with bazaars wedged into its narrow streets. There are many other places of interest such as; the Afghan National Museam, Babur Park, the Id Gah Mosque, Kabul's first shopping mall in the city centre, Kabul Zoo, Kabul Golf Club, many famous mosques etc.

There are now many licensed Banks in Kabul offering services such as Bank transfers and ATM facilities.

Several 4 and 5-star hotels have opened up in the last few years such as the Marriott and the InterContinental. And modern apartment buildings are sprouting up all across Kabul. Please check our "New Developments" section for an example of these.

In Bagrami, approximately 6km from downtown Kabul, a 90000 m2 industrial complex with modern facilities has been developed. The park is professionally managed and allows companies to operate their businesses from here with 24 hour perimeter security.
